Merry Snowflakes

I've been trying to make my card designs quite flat for the holidays. I don't know about you but I like to foam mount a lot of my images onto the card base, I love the dimension it gives to the finished card. But, I find these cards don't fit into standard envelopes and then I have to custom make envelopes and that takes extra time during this busy season.

This is one of the card designs I came up with.

P1300201c

I did an ombre watercolour background and ran it through my die cutting machine with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Quilted Embossing Folder. Love the depth and texture of the embossing.

P1300204c

I die cut two Poppystamps Snowflake Ribbons from glitter card stock and finished off with a Poppystamps sentiment (retired).

A flat card to mail and one that is easy to make.

Thanks for visiting with me today!

Poppystamps December Tag Challenge

It's the first of the month so that means there's a new challenge up at Poppystamps and this month we're all about making tags!

P1300055c

I used the Main Street Tags and Stitched Main Street Tags to create my tag frame. The Poinsettia Stem is made up of layers of glitter paper and wood grain paper and the greenery at the bottom is from the Pine Boughs dies. I stamped the script background in white pigment ink and finished off with some gems and ribbon.

Now it's your turn to create a tag for the challenge, which runs until the end of the month and the winner gets a wonderful prize! Please stop by here for all the details and to see the other projects created by the design team!

Happy Crafting!

Christmas Projects

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a few simple and quick holiday projects.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

The first one is a tag for Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags Challenge here. We were asked to make a tag inspired by one of the guests and I chose a tag by Ardyth which can be found here.

Ardyth has a fabulous clean style which I tried to incorporate onto my tag by using her elements of a tree, offset tags and metallics.

I used gold gilding flakes for my funky die cut tree by the Frantic Stamper and the tags are Poppystamps Stitched Main Street Tags.

Now onto a couple of cards, both using the new to me Penny Black Red Star stamp.

P1300099c

For the cards I used Memento Markers to colour onto the stamp and spritzed it a few times with water before stamping it out.

P1300109c

Both sentiments were gold embossed and I added Stickles to the flower centres.

P1300113c

When I got this stamp I didn't realize that the rubber had a pattern, I love the texture it gives to the poinsettia.

I"m entering this card for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Anything Goes, here.

That's it for now! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my projects!

25 Days of Christmas

Welcome to Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas. This is the 5th year Tracey has been doing this event and this year she gathered an amazing group of designers to inspire you with projects!
Today, the projects are sponsored by Poppystamps!

I went bright with my tag, using Distress Inks to colour the houses and trees. I used watercolour paper that has a lot of texture to add some interest to the die cuts.

I stamped the snowflakes in white pigment ink on the background and added Stardust Stickles to the snow bank to make it sparkly.

Stop by Tracey's blog here to check out all the other Poppystamps tags and to leave a comment for a chance to win a giveaway.

Also stop by the Poppystamps blog here where there will be a giveaway too!

This year Tracey is also having a challenge where you can create a tag that is inspired by anyone of the tag projects showcased during the month and there's oodles of prizes too! For more info visit here.

Share Handmade Kindness

A quick post today with a card for Jennifer McGuire's Share Handmade Kindness Challenge. If you haven't heard about it, it's a month long event with different challenges each week. Please check out all the details here.

For my card, I clear embossed my image onto watercolour paper and smooshed and painted on Distress Inks in Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves. Love these colours together! I white heat embossed the sentiment, added some silver thread and Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

My card is for my sister. She is a huge part of my life and I love her dearly! She lives in the same city as me but I'm going to mail it to her, she'll be so surprised!

Thanks for visiting me with today! #sharehandmadekindness
