Just Sharing

I participated in Deborah's Card Chain Challenge again this month. There were 3 challenge options: colours, a sketch or theme. I chose to follow the sketch and this is what I came up with.

The flower stamp (Rubber Stampede) was embossed and I coloured the image with Liquitex Interference Paints in blue, green and gold. These paints have mica flakes in them that are metallic and change colour depending on the viewing angle. Very cool to use but really hard to get a good pic of. So this went off to the lovely Lin.

I also made a quick card for Hero Arts monthly challenge which is Flowers and St. Patrick's Day. I stamped the speckled flowers onto vellum and embossed in white. I punched a border and added some ribbon and pearls. Very quick!

Day 983 of my captivity...

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.

Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.......for now ...

Sending Love

I made another card using Hero Arts Flower Box stamp. This one was stamped on vellum and embossed with Pearl Silver ep.  I used Marvy markers that I scribbled onto a plastic palette, diluted with water and I used a paintbrush to colour in the image for a softer look.

Thanks

This is a new stamp that I haven't had a chance to play with until yesterday. It's a frame stamp that is perfect for almost any occasion since the middle is empty. Add any sentiment that you want!

I stamped it on some kraft cardstock and coloured it with Prismacolors. For some dimension the main flower is two layers and the center of it is covered in clear glass beads. Finished it off by layering it onto some papers and adding pearls.

Butterflies and Spring

Anne over at Gaal Creative is having a challenge called Butterflies and Spring. The idea is to brighten up your blah winter day with some thoughts of spring.

The butterfly on my card black embossed on paper that I watercoloured in purples, blues and aquas. I added a bit of shimmer with a Stardust pen. The background was silver embossed on paper that I had randomly coloured with pigment inks. I added a sentiment and some ribbon to finish it off.

Dawn's Flower

Dawn McVey posted a video showing how she makes her ruffly flowers and it seems everyone was making them so I thought I would join in.

Dawn's flower is made with text paper but I opted to make mine from some Hero Arts stamped images alternated with plain paper layers. I placed the flower in a Swirly Frame which was embossed and layered and added some leaves.

Bold Flowers

This months theme at Hero Arts is "Flowers and St. Patrick's Day" with an emphasis on bold flowers this week. Jennifer McGuire showed us an embossed layered resist technique on a video here so I used it on todays card. I love the bold colours I got with Distress Inks!
