Final Project

Well, today is my last day as a Hero Hostess. I have had such a wonderful time and can't believe that three months have already gone by!

This is my last project as an Apronette and it was inspired by fellow Apronette Jill and her use of bold colours and butterflies. This paper globe was fun to make and can be hung from a light fixture or in a window. For instructions on making the globe visit the website here.

I would like to thank my fellow Hostesses Jill, Vera, Sue, Arlene and Linda for all their inspiration and kindness over the last three months. It has been fun!

Inspired by Facial Tissue

Todays card was inspired by the flap from a facial tissue box. When I opened a box today I thought it would make a perfect vase.

I embossed the flourish onto it and did some shading with distress inks. The flowers are also coloured with distress inks and have glass beads in the center. To give some texture to the leaves and stems I ran the green paper through the cuttlebug with the branch folder.

I think this will be a great card for Mother's Day which is just around the corner!

Vintage & Grunge

Today I have a vintage looking card I made for Mother's Day and for the monthly challenge at Hero Arts. The background is an acrylic distress technique I saw done by Beate here.

This card is done with digital kits by Vinnie Pearce from Two Peas. I combined the Grunge Swirl kit with elements from the Romance Me Elements 01 and 02 to get this look. I printed and cut out some of the epoxy hearts, added Crackle Accents on them and mounted them with foam dots. I also added one dangling from the string.

Live Laugh Love

A card using the Live, Laugh, Love kit from Vinnie Pearce at Two Peas. The cardbase is the Stitched Title element that I repeated as a background feature. The flower is one of the Decorative Rub-Ons that I enlarged and layered. Lots of fun elements in this kit!

Flower Cards

I really like this rose stamp from Hero Arts, it makes me think of old-fashioned romance but I think it will be a great card to give on Mother's Day.

Just to let you know that the new monthly challenge at Hero Arts is up here. This months theme is Home and Mother's Day.
This was originally made as a Mother's Day card but the flowers turned out much darker than I wanted. This feels more like an autumn card to me. Oh, well. It was my first time really playing the Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and I think it looks great with the Orange Marmalade and Mustard Seed colours.
